How it works

Calculation formulas

Concentration: vial amount ÷ final liquid volume (mL)

Liquid volume: target amount ÷ concentration in the same unit

U-100 units: liquid volume (mL) × 100

Vials required: round total material required up to the next whole vial

Before using a result

Confirm that vial and target units have not been confused.
Use the final liquid volume, not simply the volume initially drawn.
Confirm that the syringe is calibrated as U-100, where 100 units equals 1 mL.
Have a second qualified person independently verify the calculation.
